Why you'll love it
<table> <tr> <td width="50%" valign="top"> <h3>🎮 Native, not emulated</h3> The whole game was translated to run directly on your PC. No emulator to set up, no settings to tweak: install it and play. The installer prepares all the game's shaders up front, so fights don't stutter the first time you see them. </td> <td width="50%" valign="top"> <h3>🖥️ Sharp at any size</h3> From 360p for older PCs all the way up to 4K, at a smooth 60 fps. Optional sharpening, anti-aliasing and texture filtering, VSYNC on or off, and shadows you can turn off. Play in a window, borderless, or full screen. </td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="top"> <h3>👊 Every fighter unlocked</h3> All 59 fighters are yours from the start, including the 10 that used to need Namco's servers, along with the game's final balance update. </td> <td valign="top"> <h3>🌐 Rollback netcode</h3> Online fights use rollback, so they stay smooth when the connection wobbles. Play over Steam with no port forwarding and no Xbox LIVE: host a room, invite a friend, fight. </td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="top"> <h3>🏆 Ranked is back</h3> Join a <b>community server</b> run by players for Ranked Match, leaderboards, teams, Tekken Channel replays and other players' ghosts. Anyone can host one. </td> <td valign="top"> <h3>⚡ Less input delay</h3> The 2 frames of delay the original adds to offline modes are gone (switch them back on if you like), and controllers are read every millisecond. </td> </tr> <tr> <td valign="top"> <h3>🕹️ Grab a controller</h3> Plug in an Xbox controller (or any Xbox-compatible pad) and go. The keyboard works too, with keys you can change, and two players can tag-team on one PC, online too. </td> <td valign="top"> <h3>💾 Your progress, kept safe</h3> Profiles and saves live in your Windows user folder, so they survive reinstalls and updates. </td> </tr> </table>Screenshots

1. Download Get ttt2_setup.exe from the latest release.
2. Point it at your game Choose your disc image of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (USA, Europe) and its Title Update 3. The installer checks them, builds the PC version and prepares the game's shaders for you, usually in a few minutes.
3. Play Launch Tekken Tag Tournament 2 from your Desktop or Start menu.
[!NOTE] Windows may say "Windows protected your PC" because the installer isn't code-signed. Click More info, then Run anyway.
[!IMPORTANT] You need your own copy of the game. This download contains no game files: the art, sound, stages and movies are all built on your PC from your disc image and title update. They are never included here.
What you need
<table> <tr><td><b>System</b></td><td>Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit</td></tr> <tr><td><b>Graphics</b></td><td>Any DirectX 11 graphics card (on laptops, the port picks the dedicated one)</td></tr> <tr><td><b>Storage</b></td><td>About 13 GB free</td></tr> <tr><td><b>Your game</b></td><td><i>Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (USA, Europe)</i> Xbox 360 disc image (<code>.iso</code>) + Title Update 3</td></tr> <tr><td><b>For online</b></td><td>The free Steam app, running and signed in (community servers too)</td></tr> </table>Play online
Both of you install the same version of the port and keep Steam running. Online fights use rollback netcode, and every match runs directly between the two players' PCs over Steam.
With a friend, over Steam
- Host:
ONLINE MODE→PLAYER MATCH→CREATE SESSION. In your room, pressY(Friend Invite) to invite a Steam friend. Friends playing the game are listed first. - Your friend: accept the invite in Steam, or go to
ONLINE MODE→PLAYER MATCH→SEARCH SESSIONand pick your session. - Fight!
The first time you open Online Mode, the game shows Namco's online terms; accept them to continue. Steam will show you as playing Spacewar. That's normal: it's the free Steam test app the port uses to connect players.
On a community server: Ranked, leaderboards, replays
Community servers are run by players. They're where players find each other, and they bring back what used to need Namco's servers: Ranked Match, leaderboards, teams, Tekken Channel replay search and other players' ghosts. Matches still run directly between the two players over Steam; the server never carries them.
ONLINE MODE→SERVER→ADD SERVER, and type the server's address (a name or an IP; add:portif it isn't 28200;Ctrl+Vpastes).- Pick it with
A. The game remembers it and connects to it every time you open Online Mode.
The list also shows each server's players and ping, and servers on your local network. On a server you meet only that server's players. Servers know you by your Steam account, so Steam still has to be running.
Host your own: download ttt2-server for Windows or Linux from the
latest release
and follow the server guide. It's one small program with no game data, and
it comes with an admin panel in your browser (kicks, bans, match history, players online).
Netcode settings
OPTIONS → GAME OPTIONS → ONLINE NETCODE balances input delay against rollback:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
STANDARD (default) | The game's own input delay for your ping; rollback smooths out the bumps |
PRIORITIZE RESPONSE | One frame less input delay, more rollback corrections |
PRIORITIZE GRAPHICS | One frame more input delay, fewer corrections |
CUSTOM | Set the input delay and the rollback limit yourself |
Both players always share one input delay, and the host's setting decides it.
Two players on one PC
Pick PAIR at character select, then press START on the second controller when the game asks.
It works offline and online; the second player plays as a guest of the first player's profile.
Controls
Controller: works just like on Xbox 360. Whoever presses a button first is Player 1.
Keyboard (Player 1):
| Key | Does | Key | Does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arrow keys | Move / D-pad | A S Z X | A / B / X / Y |
Enter or Space | START | Q W | LB / RB |
Backspace | BACK | E R | LT / RT |
Alt + Enter | Window ↔ full screen | D F | Left / right stick click |
Change the keys in the game: OPTIONS → CONTROLLER SETUP → on BUTTON SETTINGS press
left/right to switch it to KEYBOARD, then A to edit. Pick a button, press A, then press the
new key. LB / RB show the movement, START and BACK keys, plus DEFAULTS to undo everything.
Display settings are in the game's own menu, OPTIONS → DISPLAY SETTINGS: window mode,
resolution (360p to 4K), VSYNC, SHARPNESS, ANTI-ALIASING (FXAA), TEXTURE FILTERING and
SHADOWS. The picture options are off by default, so the game looks the way it did on the console.
In borderless and full screen the mouse pointer is hidden.
Profiles: OPTIONS → SWITCH PROFILE lists them; press Y to rename one (its saves stay
with it).
Input delay: the original game adds 2 frames of delay to every button press in offline modes.
This port removes them by default; turn them back on in OPTIONS → GAME OPTIONS → INPUT DELAY.
Online matches always use the game's own delay, the same for both players.
Questions
<details> <summary><b>Is this an emulator?</b></summary> <br> No. The game's original Xbox 360 program was translated ("recompiled") into a real Windows program, with new graphics, audio and online code written for PC. That's why it runs smoothly, at high resolution, without an emulator. </details> <details> <summary><b>Why do I need my own copy of the game?</b></summary> <br> The port doesn't include the game's files. The installer builds them from your disc image and title update, so you need to own the game to play. </details> <details> <summary><b>Where do I find Title Update 3?</b></summary> <br> On your own Xbox 360, title updates are stored in <code>Content\0000000000000000\4E4D0859\000B0000\</code>. The one you need is <code>TU_174Q22P_0000008000000.00000000000O2</code> (it ends in the letter <b>O</b>, then <b>2</b>). You can also point the installer at the whole folder; it picks the right file by itself. </details> <details> <summary><b>Which version of the game works?</b></summary> <br> The retail <i>Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (USA, Europe)</i> disc. The installer checks your disc image and tells you if it's a different version or damaged. </details> <details> <summary><b>Does it stutter the first time I see a stage or a move?</b></summary> <br> Not anymore. The installer prepares all the game's shaders before you play (the step "Preparing the game's shaders"), so nothing has to be compiled in the middle of a fight. If they are ever missing (another Windows account, a deleted cache), the game rebuilds them in the background by itself. </details> <details> <summary><b>My laptop runs the game on its integrated graphics.</b></summary> <br> The port asks Windows for the dedicated graphics card. If Windows still picks the integrated one, set <b>Tekken Tag Tournament 2</b> to <b>High performance</b> in <b>Settings → System → Display → Graphics</b>. </details> <details> <summary><b>Ranked Match can't find my friend.</b></summary> <br> Both of you need to be on the same community server. The game also only pairs players whose ranks are close: its default <code>RANK LIMITS</code> turns away a big rank gap. If you're far apart, both set <code>RANKED MATCH</code> → <code>RANK LIMITS</code> to <b>No Restrictions</b> before searching. </details> <details> <summary><b>Where are my replays?</b></summary> <br> <code>ONLINE MODE</code> → <code>TEKKEN CHANNEL</code> → <code>REPLAY THEATER</code>. It works on Steam too. Downloaded replays are in its <code>REPLAY DOWNLOAD LOG</code>, where the oldest are replaced when it's full, so save the ones you want to keep. Searching other players' replays needs a community server. </details> <details> <summary><b>My PlayStation (or other) controller doesn't work.</b></summary> <br> The game reads Xbox-compatible controllers. Other controllers need a tool that makes them show up as an Xbox controller, such as DS4Windows for PlayStation pads. </details> <details> <summary><b>Why are there two "Tekken Tag Tournament 2" in Task Manager?</b></summary> <br> The second one is a small helper that talks to Steam for online play. It closes together with the game. </details> <details> <summary><b>Where are my saves? How do I uninstall?</b></summary> <br> Saves, profiles and settings are in <code>%LOCALAPPDATA%\TTT2Recomp</code>. To uninstall, use <b>Settings → Apps → Installed apps</b>. Your saves are kept unless you tick the box to remove them. </details> <details> <summary><b>Something went wrong.</b></summary> <br> Open an <a href="https://github.com/shihabal3amri/tekken-tag-tournament-2-pc/issues">issue</a> and attach <code>%LOCALAPPDATA%\TTT2Recomp\log.txt</code>. It tells us what happened. </details>Not available (yet)
World Arena relied on Namco's servers, which are gone, and no community server has its lobbies yet. Voice chat isn't supported. Ranked Match, leaderboards, teams and replay search need a community server; on plain Steam they're grayed out.
